Background

Originally from Kansas,  I completed my BFA in Dance at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, training in ballet, jazz, flamenco, tap, Graham, and Lester Horton techniques.  I relocated overseas to Scotland in 2004 to train at the Scottish School of Contemporary Dance, also attending classes with the Scottish Dance Theatre.  I received my Masters in Choreography in 2006 from Laban, in London, where I worked and performed with various artists and companies in the city.  Currently I am teaching technique and choreography at Hereford College of Arts and undertaking a PhD in Dance at De Montfort University in Leicester.

Choreography

My work as a choreographer spans a wide spectrum of projects from working with theatre companies on movement direction, to creating professional pieces for dance companies, choreographing works for students and organizations, and one-woman dance theatre shows inspired by my travels.  Recently, my work has focused on collaborations with composer Michael Beiert to experiment with electronic amplification of tap shoes paired with live music.  Video footage of this collaboration will be found on this page soon.

Performance

Although demands on my time are great, I still perform as a professional tap dancer and with contemporary dance companies both in the United States and in Great Britain.  Video footage of my latest performances will be posted on this page soon.
